For the first time at Sumfest Dancehall Night debut artistes will be closing the show with CHRONIC LAW, SQUASH other artistes from the 6ix camp. Last year Dancehall Night was closed by TEEJAY, TOMMY LEE SPARTA and RYGIN KING but they will not partake this year. Sumfest’s JOE BOGDANOVICH said:
It’s gonna be what the girls like, and that is the 6ix. I think they’re gonna do well because they’ve got a lot of fans, they’ve got a lot of lyrics. They’re very confident in themselves and their abilities with the ladies, so it’s exciting, it’s young and it’s fresh.
The lineup for Dancehall Night is: CHRONIXX, SPICE, SQUASH, ELEPHANT MAN, DEXTA DAPS, DOVEY MAGNUM, SPRAGGA BENZ, GOVANA, JAHVILLANI, MUNGA, CHRONIC LAW, SHANE E, UNKNOWN GRINGO and SHAUNA CHYN.
Sumfest has cut back on expensive Overseas artists and focused more on local acts the last few years and on online live streams for those who cannot attend the show. Sumfest 2019 starts July 14 with the Sumfest Mawnin Medz beach party, followed by the Street Dance, All White Party, All Black Blitz Party, Global Sound Clash and the Reggae Sumfest Symposium.
